These Spectacular Throwback Photos of Adele, Amy Schumer, and Taylor Swift Prove Goofy Girls Grow Up to Run the World
You'd be hard-pressed to find a trio of more successful women in 2015 than Amy Schumer, Taylor Swift, and Adele. Their record-breaking, multi-million-dollar earning efforts are an inspiration to anyone, regardless of gender. But as the throwback photos that these ladies just posted prove, they are especially inspiring for some of the goofier girls out there — who run the world?
First, there's Schumer, who in 2015 went from up-and-comer to fully arrived. The comedian not only landed herself an Emmy, and a lucrative million-dollar contract or two, but she's joining forces with another one of Hollywood's delightfully laid-back leading ladies, Jennifer Lawrence, to bring us the goofy-girl film of our dreams. Sadly, J.Law. doesn't do social media, but, thanks to Twitter, we do have this cute Halloween-themed throwback from Schumer.
The 2015 reigning pop princess also posted a Halloween-themed childhood photo. The point of throwback photos is to put some of your goofier moments out there in the universe, so it makes sense that Swift would pick this unflattering Teletubby moment as her throwback.
Given her now sleek blonde appearance, some people find it hard to accept Swift’s word that she felt awkward growing up. (Even though “awkward” continues to be part of her persona.) In a recent profile in GQ, Chuck Klosterman tested Swift's story, writing, "Popular people often claim they were once unpopular, so I ask Swift for a specific example." Swift provided him with a story of being ditched that would make even her toughest critics want to give her a hug. Especially if she were dressed as the yellow Teletubby.
The final throwback photo has nothing to do with Halloween, but here's Adele in all her gap-toothed goofy glory.
"Hello," Adele's first music video in three years, broke records previously held by Swift and Star Wars last week. Her soulful ballads have earned her labels like "diva," "chanteuse," and "queen." But looking at that cute awkward face above, you might not have guessed all the glory was lying in wait for her. So shine on, you goofy diamonds. Who knows what your future holds?
