Why Facebook's Gay Pride Filter Is Being Overridden By the American Flag

After the U.S. Supreme Court ruled to legalize same-sex marriage Friday, more than 26 million Facebook users showed their support by using Facebook's "Celebrate Pride" rainbow-colored filter over their profile pictures.

But not everyone was a fan of the colorful filter.

TIME reported that some Americans are using a web service by to add an American flag filter over their Facebook profile photos instead. 

However one Twitter user, featured in the Independent, has both flags in his picture to express his support for both same-sex marriage and the United States.
