Caitlyn Jenner Has Officially Embarked On Her Next Adventure
After fantasizing about being able to leave the house as herself in a conversation with Vanity Fair’s Pulitzer Prize-winning contributing editor Buzz Bissinger, Caitlyn Jenner has done just that — embarking on her first real-world adventure.
Two days ago, Jenner posted the Instagram below of herself with several girlfriends. And on Monday, People reports that Jenner has started a road trip with "a group of fellow transgender female friends [who] made pit-stops in Big Sur along the coast, San Francisco, and other locations." The group was reportedly filming footage for Jenner's upcoming eight-part docuseries, I Am Cait, which premieres on July 26 on E!
As Jenner told Bissinger, simply being able to step out of the house as herself is something to which she had been looking forward. “To be able to wake up in the morning, be yourself, get dressed, get ready to go out, and just be like a normal person,” she said. “That’s a wonderful feeling to [have] through life.” It looks as though Jenner is also making good on another sentiment expressed in the groundbreaking cover story.
When Jenner spoke to Bissinger, she openly acknowledged the parental mistakes she made with her first four children while living as Bruce. The Olympian's oldest offspring — Burt, Cassandra, Brandon, and Brody — also spoke to Bissinger about Jenner’s fatherly failings. But all four seemed optimistic that they might be able to bond with Caitlyn more than they ever could with the father they knew growing up. "I have high hopes that Caitlyn is a better person than Bruce," Jenner's son Burt told Bissinger. "I'm very much looking forward to that."
And within a week of Caitlyn’s glossy debut, it looks as though she is keen to carry through on that hope.
