Celebrities Celebrate Maya Angelou

On this very sad day, celebrities express their gratitude for Maya Angelou and the powerful pieces and inspiration she gave to the world.  From Anderson Cooper to Queen Latifah, thousands of people have tweeted with the hashtag #MayaAngelou and #PhenomenalWoman, using her best quotes and linking to her poems.

As seen by the emotive reaction, the legendary poet has truly left an invaluable mark on the world and will be deeply missed.  Her body of creative work and ultimate wisdom will forever stay with us.

Oprah Winfrey recently released a statement about Angelou.  "[W]hat stands out to me most about Maya Angelou is not what she has done or written or spoken, it’s how she lived her life. She moved through the world with unshakeable calm, confidence and a fierce grace. I loved her and I know she loved me. I will profoundly miss her. She will always be the rainbow in my clouds."
