December Checklist: 10 Things You Must Do This Month

December Checklist: 10 Things You Must Do This Month

December is a month known for its hustle and bustle.

Everyone's excited for the upcoming festivities, but this month also brings a time for reflection. It's your opportunity to replay the past year and pinpoint the changes you hope to make in the new year. Therefore, this month's checklist is comprised of reminders to embrace the holiday hoopla, but to also sit back and take a load off once in a while.

1. Relive your childhood while CBS airs month-long holiday classics
Get ready for the shows you watched as a kid to magically reappear. From the I Love Lucy Christmas Special to Frosty the Snowman — you'll be traveling down memory lane all month-long. Click here for the full schedule.

2. Celebrate the holidays!
Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and plenty of other holidays fall in December, which makes it the perfect month to reconnect with friends, family, and even mentors!

3. Grab a tall glass of milk on National Cookie Day (December 4)
Today is the day to make use of those holiday cookie recipes, and dunk away.

4. Ditch your computer/phone on Letter Writing Day (December 7)
When was the last time you gave or received a hand-written letter? When you put down your phone and computer for a little while, you’ll see the beauty in simplicity. You take more time with the words on paper and the message you write means just a little more.

5. Think, “What would Eleanor Roosevelt do?” on Human Rights Day (December 10)
The UN Commission on Human Rights (fun fact: Eleanor Roosevelt was one of its members) was formed in 1946 to ensure fundamental rights for all human beings world-wide. December 10 remembers the day in 1948 when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Read more about what makes this year special.

6. Choose white or red on National Sangria Day (December 20)
When wine is one of the main ingredients, you really can't go wrong. We say ditch the fruitcake and throw the oranges and pineapples into sangria instead.

7. Change your perspective during Look on the Bright Side Day (December 21)
Make a list of all the positives about your current job. That way, if you ever plan to switch your career direction, you’ll already know the fundamentals of what will make you happy in the workplace.

8. Hit the theaters when Joy gets released (December 25)
If you can’t tell by now, we’re a little obsessed with Jennifer Lawrence here at Levo. So we felt obligated to mention that her new movie is coming out — oh, and she's a total #girlboss in it.

9. Sip some bubbly on New Year's Eve (December 31)
I bet we don’t have to tell you twice. Pop that champagne with the intentions of making this next year even better than the last.

10. Stop going back and forth on Make up Your Mind Day (December 31)
Tell yourself that 2016 is the year you'll stop second-guessing. Today, make it your mission to stop with the self-doubt and start making concrete decisions — whether it's about changing career paths or asking for that raise. Make the pledge to make up your mind.
