After Decades of Democratic Opposition, Dallas Morning News Is 'With Her'
"Résumé vs. résumé, judgment vs. judgment, this election is no contest," writes the editorial board of the The Dallas Morning News.
This is because for the first time in 75 years — yes, since FDR — the renowned Texas paper is officially endorsing a Democratic presidential candidate. The editorial headline simply reads, "We recommend Hillary Clinton for president."
While the paper recognized that Clinton and the Democratic Party is "at odds with our belief in private-sector ingenuity and innovation," their backing of Clinton compliments her record of achievements, noting that they outweigh the differences.
"Clinton has made mistakes and displayed bad judgment, but her errors are plainly in a different universe than her opponent's," the editorial reads. "Trump's values are hostile to conservatism."
"She [Clinton] is the candidate more likely to keep our nation safe, to protect American ideals and to work across the aisle to uphold the vital domestic institutions that rely on a competent, experienced president," the editorial continues. "Hillary Clinton has spent years in the trenches doing the hard work needed to prepare herself to lead our nation. In this race, at this time, she deserves your vote."
