Donna Shalala Delivers Two Commencement Addresses
University of Miami president and MAKER Donna Shalala delivered two commencement addresses Saturday at the University of Miami for students in the School of Law and the Miller School of Medicine, the Miami Herald reports.
Shalala has served as the university’s fifth president for 14 years, and has made tremendous strides in developing the school into one of the top 50 universities in the country. In her time as president, she has more than doubled freshman enrollment, and has raised $3 billion for the university, CBS reports.
The former Health and Human Services Secretary will step down from her role as university president on May 31. Shalala will then move to New York to head the Clinton Foundation.
