Emma Watson Interviews 4 Designers About Gender Equality: Here's What They Had to Say
Earlier this year, Emma Watson launched a campaign at the UN called He for She. Throughout her time working on the campaign, she's delivered a series of inspiring must-watch speeches including one where she addressed why both men and women should call themselves feminists and another at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where she introduced He for She's 10x10x10 initiative, urging governments, businesses, and universities to make "concrete commitments to gender equality."
Today Watson, who covers the September issue of British Vogue, brings her fashionable friends into the discussion.
In a video for the magazine, the actress and UN Women Goodwill Ambassador interviews fashion designers on their opinions on gender equality. The actress goes deep, asking Stella McCartney, Erdem Moralioglu, Jonathan Saunders, and Bella Freud, "Are you a feminist? What are the biggest challenges facing women in fashion today? What part can the fashion industry play in addressing gender inequality?" and other pressing questions.
Watch the video above to hear what these designers and Watson have to say on the subject.
