How to Be a Fit Rock Star at Any Age

How to Be a Fit Rock Star at Any Age

By Emma Prenn

This inspiring grandma just climbed Mount Kilimanjaro — at 85 years-old!

Once again, we're witnessing some amazing feats of fitness showing us that you can #PlayLikeaGirl at any age. Following in the footsteps of Evelyn Jones, who became the oldest person to throw out the first pitch at a major league game this month, Anne Lorimor checked something huge off her bucket list. Lorimor, a self-proclaimed "eighty-five years young great-grandmother," scaled Mount Kilimanjaro alongside her niece and nephew last week.

She is reportedly the oldest person ever to accomplish this feat — and we're not completely surprised, considering the fact that she’s been to over 100 countries and climbed in many of them.

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, requires training and prep (not to mention major guts), but Lorimor decided, "I'm going to do whatever is necessary to make that trip."

Lorimor climbed to raise awareness for the Challenge Youth Fund, a charity she founded in 2004 to help underprivileged teens. And if you’re not already impressed ... Lorimor is also a cancer survivor who climbed with the flu!

Check out the video of Lorimor, below, who talks about how she doesn't want to "sit in a chair and watch television all day." She is, literally, a rock star.
