Here's Hillary Clinton Casually Dining With "SNL" Counterpart Kate McKinnon
President Donald Trump may not enjoy Alec Baldwin's biting impersonation on "Saturday Night Live" — but Hillary Clinton appears to be a big fan of Kate McKinnon's take on her (sense of humor: another polar difference between the two candidates.)
Clinton is such a fan, in fact, that she apparently went to dinner with her comedy counterpart in New York on Wednesday night. That's right: Hillary Rodham Clinton and Kate McKinnon broke bread together, and we're kind of dreaming about being the third wheel at that dinner date.
Their date was predictably a blast, with "lots of laughter emanated from their table," an onlooker at Orso, the Italian restaurant where they ate, told Page Six. Other diners took notice too, with some reportedly chanting "Lock him up!" — a twist on the anti-Clinton cheer often heard at Trump rallies. Clinton capped off the night by attending a performance of Broadway's Sunset Boulevard — sans McKinnon — where she received a standing ovation.
McKinnon began portraying Clinton on "SNL" in 2015, and the two shared the stage together at Studio 8H during the premiere of season 41. After Clinton lost the election, McKinnon delivered a somber and moving performance of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" as Clinton. Since the election, McKinnon has moved on to impersonate Kellyanne Conway and Elizabeth Warren on the NBC show.
