Chloë Grace Moretz as the Little Mermaid, Emma Watson as Belle, and Other Hollywood Actresses Who Should Play Disney Heroines

Hollywood is having a love affair with Disney princesses. Earlier this year, Emma Watson was cast as Belle in the live-action remake of "Beauty and the Beast."

Kristen Stewart portrayed a sword-wielding Snow White in the 2012 dark fantasy "Snow White and the Huntsman," while newcomer Lily James starred as Cinderella in the Kenneth Branagh adaptation of the children’s fairy tale.

Over the weekend, Chloë Grace Moretz was cast as Ariel in the upcoming adaptation of "The Little Mermaid." It's official: Playing a Disney heroine is the ultimate 'it' role for 'it' girls.

With that in mind, we went ahead and paired seven other Disney heroines with their perfect Hollywood counterparts in the gallery above.

Cara Delevingne as Aurora | Cara Delevingne is no stranger to Disney tales, as she’s already landed a part in Pan. But wouldn’t it make perfect sense for her to also play Aurora, aka Sleeping Beauty, since she’s been known to, ahem, oversleep from time to time? Freida Pinto as Jasmine | With her big brown eyes and striking beauty, Freida Pinto would fit perfectly into the role of Jasmine, the sultan’s daughter in Aladdin. Also, she’s one of the few who could pull off that revealing midriff-baring ensemble flawlessly. Photo Credit (from left): Courtesy of Walt Disney Pictures; Getty Images

Jamie Chung as Mulan | Jamie Chung already showed off her action cred as Amber in "Sucker Punch," so who better to play Mulan, the Chinese heroine who goes undercover as a male soldier in the Imperial Army? (Plus, she already nailed the role on TV's "Once Upon a Time.") Photo Credit (from left): Courtesy of Walt Disney Pictures; Getty Images

Amanda Seyfried as Rapunzel | If anyone has hip-grazing, golden hair that could rival Rapunzel’s, it’s Amanda Seyfried. Photo Credit (from left): Courtesy of Walt Disney Pictures; Getty Images

Kiersey Clemons as Tiana | Kiersey Clemons has been relatively under-the-radar — you probably know her only as Bianca in Transparent — but after all the buzz surrounding her Sundance movie "Dope" this week, we’re sure she'd nail the role of Tiana in "The Princess and The Frog." Taylor Swift as Elsa | Can't you already hear Taylor Swift belting out Frozen's "Let It Go" at the top of her lungs? Photo Credit (from left): Courtesy of Walt Disney Pictures; Getty Images

Selena Gomez as Elena of Avalor | With similar long brunette locks, doesn't it seem like Selena Gomez was born to play the role of Disney’s first-ever Latina princess? Photo Credit (from left): Courtesy of Walt Disney Pictures; Getty Images
