The Inspirational Women in Your Lives
In April we launched MAKERS UK with videos of pioneering British women who are paving the way for generations of women to come: singer, songwriter, and campaigner Annie Lennox; Baroness Valerie Amos the Director of SOAS, University of London; Southbank Centre Artistic Director Jude Kelly; British feminist writer and founder of the Everyday Sexism Project Laura Bates, as well as STEM Advocate and Head Stemette Anne-Marie Imafidon. As part of our celebration of the launch, we invited fans and readers from across Britain to nominate the woman who inspires them most. Over 250 of you responded to our call with stories of the extraordinary woman in your life, who by and large answers to "mum". We were so touched by your stories that we wanted to share a few of them with you.
