Jennifer Lawrence Opens Up About the Important Kind of Beauty and Confidence
Jennifer Lawrence has always been the Hollywood darling for all-things amusing and unfiltered.
And now, the Oscar-winning actress is making her rounds promoting the final film of the Hunger Games series, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2."
The star chatted with Nylon Magazine about her ongoing partnership with Dior, her beauty routine, and her thoughts on confidence and self-empowerment.
Read below to see what Lawrence had to say.
1. On her appearance
"I think we're all born with certain traits and qualities and it's important to just work with it and be happy. Would I really not want to eat carbs past 4 pm? Would I really want to put in the work to look like that? No. You can be a size zero, that's cool. I'm going to stay at a size four and keep eating. So, I'm happy."
2. On the important things to her
"Growing up, I found value in being a good friend, trying to make people light, or trying to be as intelligent as my brain would allow."
3. On where real beauty comes from
"It is better to find your roots and your strength in something you're always going to have, which is your mind and your humor, and being a good person to the people around you."
4. On confidence
"I have a really loving and supportive family. When the people who love you believe in you, it gives you confidence in yourself."
5. On the influence of her mother and grandmother on beauty
"They didn’t define themselves by a beauty touring, and I think I’m the same way."
6. On what matters most, looks aside
"I found value in being a good friend, trying to make people laugh, or trying to be as intelligent as my brain would allow."
7. On makeup
"When other people are putting it on me, it’s the greatest think in the entire world — otherwise, I like to keep things simple with just a couple of products."
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2" is out in theaters on November 20.
