See the First Picture of Kerry Washington as Anita Hill in HBO’s "Confirmation"

Actress Kerry Washington gave us a sneak peek Tuesday of her new role playing Anita Hill in HBO's upcoming film, "Confirmation."

The movie is about the 1991 confirmation hearings of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Hill accused Thomas of sexual harassment while working as his assistant at the U.S. Department of Education, TIME reported. Hill testified at his trials.

Hill brought attention to issues of sexism and race, which still resonate today.

Check out Washington's portrayal of Hill in the Instagram photo above. In the post Washington wrote to HBO, "Thank you for the profound opportunity of getting to inhabit Anita Hill and help tell this story."

According to Elle, Washington is not only playing the leading role, but she is also executive producing the film. This will be the first time that Washington has done so.
