LeanIn.org to partner with Getty images

"We need to see women, both in pictures and in writing, who have agency and are powerful."

Today at The MAKERS Conference, Sheryl Sandberg announced a partnership between LeanIn.org and Getty Images to offer a special collection of images which will represent women and families in more empowering ways. As Sandberg explained, "We have a really long way to go. One of the things [women] suffer from is low expectations." When women won 20 percent of the seats in the US Senate, the story in the media was that women were taking over the Senate, she explained. "Fifty percent of the population getting 20 percent of the seats isn't a takeover; it's a travesty."
