Leslie Jones Is Saturday Night Live's New Featured Player

This morning, Saturday Night Live announced that Leslie Jones will join the show's featured player cast after she served as a writer on the show last season. She’ll start on October 25 during the episode hosted by Jim Carrey and featuring Iggy Azalea.

Leslie Jones joins featured player Sasheer Zamata to make this the first time in SNL history that the show has featured more than one African-American female cast member.

Before SNL, Leslie Jones had a one hour comedy special, Problem Child, on Showtime and featured at Just For Laughs festival in Montreal as well as the Aspen Comedy Festival.

She also joins female repertory players Cecily Strong, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, and Vanessa Bayer. These women are all hilarious; join us for a look back at some of their funniest moments to celebrate SNL’s strengthened female cast.
