You'll Love Marvel's Four New Female-Lead Comic Book Covers

On Monday, People.com reported that starting November 11, Marvel will roll out four comic book covers featuring female leads including the All-New Wolverine and Spider-Gwen, among others. (There are currently 17 comic book titles with female stars, including A-Force, an all-female Avengers team that Marvel introduced earlier this year.)

People.com elaborated on one character in particular, Jessica Drew in Spider-Woman, who recently became a mother — which the site says was inspired by the birth of Marvel writer Dennis Hopeless' first child.

"He had developed such an amazement and respect for his wife," Sana Amanat, Director of Content and Development at Marvel Entertainment, told People.com. "You're talking about the strongest characters out there, people out there — you have to talk about mothers," she continued. “They are the strongest women."
