What do Nicki Minaj and Maya Angelou have in common?

They both are outspoken about issues of racism and prejudice against women.

On Wednesday night, at A&E Network's benefit concert, Shining A Light: A Concert for Progress on Race in America, Minaj paid tribute to the American poet when she recited Angelou's famous poem, "Still I Rise."

Minaj and other musicians such as John Legend, Pharrell, and Bruce Springsteen performed at the show to address racial inequality in America, and to raise money for United Way Worldwide, according to TIME.
