Twitter Reclaims Donald Trump's 'Nasty Woman' Debate Comment With These Messages of Feminism
Thanks to Donald Trump's comments during Wednesday night's third presidential debate, the Internet is rallying around the nastiest presidential candidate in history, Hillary Clinton.
The Republican presidential candidate inadvertently created the viral "nasty woman" hashtag when he made a direct and rude jab at the Democratic nominee. The moment occurred when Clinton was speaking about Social Security — and referencing reports that Trump hadn't paid federal taxes in 18 years. "I am on record as saying that we need to put more money into the Social Security trust fund — that's part of my commitment to raise taxes on the wealthy," she said. "My Social Security payroll contribution will go up, as will Donald’s, assuming he can’t figure out how to get out of it." Trump (unsurprisingly) interrupted her, calling Clinton "such a nasty woman."
Ironically, the moment came after Trump had just finished insisting he was incredibly respectful of all women. It also comes on the heels of a string of sexual assault accusations against the GOP candidate.
The ever-resourceful Internet quickly reclaimed the moment for the Democratic candidate, tweeting powerful statements on feminism and messages of support to Clinton. See some of the best #nastywoman tweets, below.
