WATCH: Exclusive Interviews from the MAKERS Red Carpet

The excitement on the MAKERS: Women Who Make America red carpet was palpable. MAKERS such as artist and activist Faith Ringgold, network news pioneer Katie Couric, publisher Barbara Smith, television pioneer Diane English, Rookie creator Tavi Gevinson, feminist activist Gloria Steinem- and many more! - gathered at Lincoln Center to honor each other's stories and the legacy of incredible women before them.

Also joining the MAKERS on the red carpet was GIRLS star and brand new Simple Facial Skincare ambassador Allison Williams who was honored to be among so many amazing women. "These are the women who have built this country in a modern sense and will continue to be the biggest playmakers that we have." The Closer's Kyra Sedgwick, Arianna Huffington and Good Morning America's Lara Spencer also stopped by to show their support.

Many of the guests, including MAKER and retired U.S. Army general Pat Foote, tipped their hats to Gloria Steinem. Steinem said that "MAKERS is going to unleash talent like we've never seen."

Hopefully that means a future filled with many, many more MAKERS.
