Who Did She Grow Up To Be?...
It's Katie Couric-- mom, anchor, award-winning journalist, and TV host. Known for her ability to handle hard news and friendly talk, the Virginia born MAKER was the first woman to serve as sole anchor of a network evening news program. Prior to taking on that groundbreaking seat on CBS Evening News, she spent a 15-year run co-hosting Today. After the death of her beloved husband Jay Monahan to colon cancer, Katie bravely underwent an onscreen colonoscopy in order to raise awareness for the disease and inspire people to get regular check-ups.
Katie's new daytime talk show Katie premiered this week on ABC with guests Sheryl Crow, who wrote the theme song and was celebrating her fiftieth birthday, and new Weight Watchers spokeswoman Jessica Simpson. MAKERS wishes Katie all the luck!
