Wimbledon Updates: Serena Advances, American Women Showing Strength

Serena Williams won against sister Venus 6-4, 6-3 Monday at Wimbledon. The 20-time major champion will advance to the quarterfinals. Serena and Venus are both five-time champions at the All England Club where Wimbledon is hosted.

Serena's latest victory puts her on track to win a Grand Slam following winning both the Australian Open and French Open this Year.

And American pride continues to swell on the heels of July 4 and Sunday's U.S. FIFA Women’s World Cup victory as tennis players Madison Keys and CoCo Vandeweghe also won Monday, marking the first time three American women have reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals since Serena, Lindsay Davenportand Jennifer Capriati did it in 2004.
