Women Take to Twitter to Show #WhatADoctorLooksLike After Delta Flight Discrimination

Since last week, the Internet has been buzzing about Tamika Cross's Facebook testimony about a discriminatory incident aboard a Delta flight from Detroit.

In her description of the event, Cross says that after the flight attendant pressed her with questions regarding her credentials, a white male doctor stepped up to help the unconscious man onboard.

"Mind you, he hasn't shown anything to her. Just showed up and fit the 'description of a doctor,'" Cross wrote, livid because of the blatant discrimination she experienced in front of an airplane full of passengers.

Following the incident, which Delta has since begun investigating, women of color took to Twitter to prove that not all doctors are, well... white males.

By using the hashtag #WhatADoctorLooksLike, these social media users continue to show their support, hoping to raise awareness of the implicit bias, sexism, and racism that — believe it or not — still taints our world.
