Zendaya Traded Hair With Barbie, But It's Her Ombre Lips You Really Need to See

Zendaya Traded Hair With Barbie, But It's Her Ombre Lips You Really Need to See

If you're going to come out with a Zendaya Barbie doll, of course she needs those famous dreadlocks. You know, the Oscars 2015 hairstyle that Giuliana Rancic famously dissed and Zendaya even more famously defended.

Well, such a Barbie now exists, and yes, her hair's every bit as amazing as one would expect.

Zendaya was presented with this one-of-a-kind Barbie yesterday as recognition of her efforts to empower girls.

She posted this side-by-side shot on Instagram, saying, "When I was little I couldn't find a Barbie that looked like me. My, how times have changed. Thank you Barbie for this honor and for allowing me to be a part of your diversification and expansion of the definition of beauty." Keeping things diversified at the event where she received the doll, Zendaya's own hair suddenly looked oh-so-Barbie, in the most traditional sense — waist-length voluminous waves (just not blond).

But wait, there's more to see here. While this Zendaya/Barbie hair swap is already epic, we're just as obsessed with the ombre lipstick the Disney star was wearing. Yes, ombre! Take a closer peek via her makeup artist's Instagram account.

To create the effect, celebrity makeup artist Allan Avendano applied Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip Waterproof Lipliner in Matte Raspberry 10C, then traced the outer edges of Zendaya's lips with MAC Lipstick in Heroine. Next, he applied Lancome Rouge in Love Lipstick in Midnight Rose, and then on the center of her lips, he used MAC Lipstick in Yash (a deep neutral color) as a highlight. Looks like he topped it all off with some gloss for added fullness too.

Clearly, Barbie (and the rest of womankind) still has some beauty lessons to learn from this one.
