David Ogilvy once said that he likes people with “guts under pressure, resilience in defeat.” If he were still around today, Rachel Caggiano would be a favorite. In an industry where pressure and stress weigh heavy on the day-to-day, Rachel has proven herself to be unflappable. With the rare mix of equal parts calm and fierce, grounded and fearless, it's no surprise that Rachel turned a major industrial crisis into a long-standing and trusting client relationship and is now taking the helm to grow Ogilvy's innovative content offer in a rapidly changing landscape.
In the communications industry, leaders are often described as ‘do-ers’. But Rachel is a true ‘make-r’—someone who mines creative ideas and empowers them to catch fire. Which is why it comes as no surprise she won Ogilvy & Mather’s inaugural MAKERS award this year. A mentor to many women (and men) at Ogilvy, Rachel always has an open door and open ear. She deeply believes in the power of the shared meal, volunteering with DC Central Kitchen and Martha's Table and spending most of her spare time creating meals for those she loves most: husband, Will, and two sons, Jack and Cole.
