Vice President, Development

Katie Bucklew is Vice President of Development working on the acquisition, vision, leasing strategy, project management and execution for ground-up development and redevelopment activity in the portfolio. Katie began her career in EDENS’ financial management analyst program, working on debit and equity raises, new development projects, acquisitions and corporate reporting. She has since held a number of high-profile roles at EDENS that have given her a broad perspective of the retail real estate industry. Previously, Katie worked directly for Jodie McLean, EDENS’ Chief Executive Officer, on portfolio transactions and strategic growth, capital allocation and operational strategy. Prior to this role, Katie spent three years on the Mid-Atlantic investment team, directing the daily activities and executing strategic plans for the 35-center Mid-Atlantic portfolio comprised of more than 4 million square feet and $1B in asset value. She also spent two years on the EDENS leasing team, where she was the second-leading leasing producer in 2010, responsible for 11 retail centers totaling over 1.2 million square feet. Katie holds an MBA from The Wharton School, a Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. Katie is a member of ICSC, Women in Retail Real Estate and The Urban Land Institute. She is an active leader in the ULI Washington District Council, sitting on the Women’s Leadership Initiative committee.
Angela Rakis
Angela Rakis

Vice President, Marketing

Angela Rakis is Vice President of Marketing at EDENS. She leads the creative design and marketing teams across the company. Previously, Rakis was Marketing Director for Mosaic and EDENS centers from Virginia to Boston, including branding, advertising, websites, multi-media, events and logo development. Under her leadership, Mosaic’s marketing team has established strategic campaigns that promote the lifestyle brand for the center. With more than 20 years of experience in marketing, Angela has developed a wealth of strategic planning, program management and retail acumen. Prior to her role at EDENS, she was Executive Director of Marketing & Customer Experience for Whole Foods Market, Mid Atlantic Region, after working her way through the Whole Foods ranks by serving as marketing lead for the Northeast Region. She graduated from North Carolina State University, cum laude, with a B.A. in Communications/Public Relations. She also attended the French Culinary Institute in New York City, where she received a Grand Diploma in Pastry Arts, giving her a unique perspective on operations and consumer trends.
Nicole Shiman
Nicole Shiman

Vice President, Investments

Nicole Shiman is Vice President of Investments, leading our Florida portfolio and office. She brings extensive experience in acquisitions and dispositions, as well as portfolio oversight and management, to the investment team. Nicole previously served as Vice President at Miami-based 13th Floor Investments, where she was responsible for leading acquisition initiatives, new business procurement and capitalization efforts. She was actively involved in the ongoing oversight, development, management and disposition of 13th Floor’s and its affiliates’ real estate portfolios. Before her work with 13th Floor, Nicole spent many years with The Boston Consulting Group in their Toronto, New York and Miami offices. Nicole graduated from The Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, and received her Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard Business School. She is a Real Estate Committee Member of The Underline and is a Board Member of The Wynwood Yard.
