Tiffany Shlain is a filmmaker, artist, founder of the Webby Awards, and co-founder of The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences. Her last four films premiered at Sundance, and her films collectively have received more than 50 awards including a "Disruptive Innovation Award" from the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival. Always on the pulse of technology and art, she is currently working on a film series which involves a form of collaborative filmmaking she named "cloud filmmaking," an interactive experience that involves participants from all over the world sending her images and videos which her team edits together into a short film. The first film in the series was set to the music of Moby and released as a featured video on YouTube, with 100 customized versions. Recently, she filmed a 10 minute film and TED Book called "Brain Power." Shlain is a Henry Crown Fellow of The Aspen Institute, and member of the advisory board for The Prince of Wales Fellowship at MIT, MIT-IBM Network Science Research Center, The Institute for the Future, and she was invited to advise Secretary State Hillary Clinton about the internet and technology.
In her new AolOn web series "The Future Starts Here," Shlain explores what it means to be human as we rush head first into the future of ever-changing technology and always evolving digital landscapes.
