Mira Sorvino is an award winning actor, mother and an advocate against human trafficking. She was the official ambassador for Amnesty International’s Stop Violence Against Women campaign from 2004 to 2008. In 2009, she was appointed to her current position as Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, specializing on the subject of human trafficking. She is an honorary board member of Polaris Project, the leading organization combatting human trafficking in order to save millions who are at risk of abuse and exploitation.
