More From Letty Cottin

In this video

Pogrebin talks about Hillary Clinton's run for the presidency and why she was a good candidate.

Letty Cottin's Biography

Grew Up:Jamaica, New York

Early Feminist Inclination:"I found out that my brother got a Bar Mitzvah and a big party and a lot presents and I turned 13 and nothing happened and looking back on it I remember how enraged I was."

Hero:Bella Abzug was "an absolute hero".

Post-Graduate Goal:Husband and set of sterling.

Women's activist Letty Cottin Pogrebin is a founding editor of Ms. magazine, co-founder of the National Women's Political Caucus, and the author of 10 books.

A graduate without a husband to support her like she'd imagined by the ripe old age of 19, Pogrebin dove into the life of a career in publishing. She pushed through the endless harassment to a high level executive position.

Soon after publishing her first book "How to Make it in a Man's World," a humorous guide to making it in a male-dominated world, Pobgrebin was introduced to the feminist ideals of the women's movement and never looked back. Finally married by 24, Pogrebin's husband joined her cause.

Enlightened by her consciousness raising group, Pogrebin moved to action in the early seventies. She helped to found and organize the first National Women's Political Caucus and the groundbreaking Ms. magazine whose aim was to bring the movement into a magazine. Despite initial backlash, Ms. successfully brought the women's movement into the hands of women who may have never been able to participate.

Today Pogrebin remains a strong voice of activism as she continues to write and contribute to a wide variety of publications.
