Laura Owens is a Los Angeles-based visual artist whose often largely-scaled paintings represent a blend of abstract and figurative, incorporating whimsical doodles and fine line drawing. Owen's work has been included in collections at the Museum of Modern Art (New York), Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Whitney Museum (New York), Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), Museum of Contemporary Art (Los Angeles), San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh. She received a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and MFA from California Institute of the Arts.
