Courtney E. Martin’s first book, Perfect Girls, Starving Daughters: How the Quest for Perfection is Harming Young Women was called “smart and spirited” by the New York Times. Since then she has written five books focusing on issues of equality, social justice, parenthood, media and feminism. Her most recent, Project Rebirth: Survival and the Strength of the Human Spirit from 9/11 was released in conjunction with the documentary film, Rebirth, by the Academy Award-winning filmmaker, James Whitaker. Courtney is also an editor at Feministing.com, which recently won the Hillman Prize for Blog Journalism.
