Elizabeth Holmes talks about how she's striving to change the health care industry for the better.

Elizabeth's Biography

Elizabeth Holmes is regarded as one of the most influential and successful health technology entrepreneurs.

Holmes was born in Washington D.C., although her family relocated to Houston when she was 9. From an early age, Holmes knew she wanted to make a difference in the world. Focused and determined, she set her sights on Stanford University. After being accepted, she enrolled as a chemical engineer major.

It wasn't until she witnessed a close family member's battle with cancer that she felt motivated to develop better preventative care.

She dropped out of Stanford her sophomore year in 2003 to found Theranos, a company that develops more effective, easier-to-use blood tests.

At the age of 31, Holmes was named the world's youngest self-made female billionaire.
