Sarah Jessica Parker is an actress, producer, and designer.
Her career in the entertainment industry is rooted in live performance.
In 1976 at the age of 11, she made her Broadway debut in the revival of "The Innocents." From there, she went on to star in the title role of the Broadway musical "Annie" three years later.
Her film career launched in the 1980s when she made appearances in "Footloose" and "Firstborn." The following decade she starred in films like "L.A. Story," "Honeymoon in Vegas," "Hocus Pocus," "Ed Wood," and "The First Wives Club."
Parker is most notably known for her leading role as Carrie Bradshaw on the HBO hit television series, "Sex and the City." During her time on the show she served as executive producer, won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2001, and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2004. Parker also won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, and 2005. She has also won three Screen Actors Guild Awards for her leading role on "Sex and the City."
Aside from her extensive entertainment career, Parker is also a well-known figure in the fashion industry. She's appeared in numerous TV and print ads and served as a spokesmodel for fashion brands such as Gap and Jordache Jeans. In 2005, she released her first perfume called Lovely. Then, two years later she partnered with discount clothing chain Steve & Barry's and launched her own fashion line, Bitten, along with the release of her follow up fragrance, Covet.
In 2014, Parker started an exclusive footwear line, the SJP Collection, at Nordstrom.
Parker is slated to make a leading comeback to HBO for a new comedy series, "Divorced," premiering in 2015.
