Tracy K. Smith is a poet, educator and author of three collections of poetry. Her most recent book of poems, Life on Mars, won her critical acclaim and a full-page review in the New York Times. Her talents have also been recognized with a Wallace Stegner Fellowship at Stanford University, a 2008 Essence Literary Award, and a 2004 Rona Jaffe Writers Award, to name a few. She completed her BA at Harvard and her MFA in Creative Writing at Columbia University. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor at Princeton University. In 2012, Smith was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for poetry for her book Life on Mars.
