Billie Holiday Returns to the Apollo Theater Through Hologram Technology

Iconic jazz musician and singer-songwriter Billie Holiday will perform at the Apollo Theater.

How is that possible you ask?

Through hologram technology.

In an effort to bring hologram technology to the theater, the Apollo has partnered with Hologram USA, reported The New York Times. With this addition, the Apollo will be the first theater in the United States to offer presentations using hologram technology.

"Billie is going to be able to talk about the history of the Apollo," said Jonelle Procope, the Apollo president to The New York Times. "She can take questions from the audience in an interesting way. She can sing some songs."

Approved audio recordings will help create content for an interactive show for visitors. Procope also hopes that hologram technology will allow older musicians to collaborate with present performers and recreate famous acts.

Billie Holiday is scheduled to debut around Thanksgiving.
