5 Awesome Covers of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"

Pop star Cyndi Lauper celebrated her 62nd birthday Monday.

Without her and her colorful personality, the world wouldn't have the iconic song, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." In a way, it's become one of the ultimate girl-power anthems. It's inspired other mediums of pop culture like the '80s movie, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt. Without this song, we wouldn't have this genius pun and great feminist quote: "Girls just wanna have fundamental rights."

Check out (and dance along to) these awesome covers of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun."

1. Ellen DeGeneres' pal Sophia Grace showed off how she just wants to have fun

2. Miley Cyrus during her Hannah Montana phase just wanted to have fun

3. Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry prove that adult girls just wanna have fun, too

4. This old-timey cover of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" because we'd like to think that having fun was a thing everyone wanted throughout history

5. And even guys just want girls to have fun

However, nothing quite beats the original:

And, just another reminder of the feminist gem that this song inspired:
