Elaine Quijano was Interrupted This Many Times During the VP Debate

Elaine Quijano made history as the first women of color and Asian American to moderate a national political debate. She is also the youngest to moderate over the last 28 years.

Quijano often had a hard time keeping the conversation under control as vice presidential candidates Sen. Tim Kaine and Gov. Mike Pence continually spoke over each other, veered off topic from her questions, and neglected to stick to the time limits provided.

According to USA TODAY, the Chicago native tried to rein in the VP candidates at least 27 times but was constantly interrupted.

But why? Could it be Kaine and Pence forgot that Quijano was also sitting at the table, or did they just not care?

Twitter users quickly took to their accounts to note that the vice presidential debate appeared to be just two white men talking over a woman of color.
