According to a recent report by Entertainment Weekly, executive producer John Legend of "Underground," will be making his first appearance on the show as none other than historical abolitionist Frederick Douglass himself.
"I think the show will teach us not only how important it is to understand our history but also how inspiring some of these actions of our forefathers were," Legend told EW. "They were extremely challenging times, and these people found the courage to fight back. I think that can be inspirational for all of us who believe that something needs to change in America."
A musical genius, talented producer, upcoming actor, and feminist husband and father, this MAKERS man will unarguably steal the screen in his portrayal of Douglass, helping "to humanize the slaves."
The show, which tells "the story of fugitive slaves fighting for freedom in the years before the Civil War," will air its second season on WGN America on March 8, 2017.
