Finally! A Designer Debuted the First NYFW Collection With Hijabs

It's finally happened! Muslim designer Anniesa Hasibuan has officially made fashion history by becoming not only the first Indonesian to debut a collection in a New York Fashion Week venue, but also by being the creator of the first-ever line of clothing featuring hijabs.

"My ready-to-wear line is simple and elegant, but still uses the luxurious materials that I am known for, and my wearers can now feel like princesses in their day-to-day lives, not just on special occasions," Hasibuan told The Jakarta Post.

And with each of her pieces able to mix and match, customers have the option to pair them with various other head scarves, shoes, and jewelry from her line to make each look even more exciting.

From colorful patterns to pastel solids, Hasibuan's sophisticated trousers and tunics create an opportunity for Muslim women to express themselves through fashion, just as every other woman can.

"I want to bring the Indonesian name to the fashion world, and use my clothes to introduce people to the different and diverse parts of Indonesia."
