Glamour Will Celebrate International Day of the Girl With First Lady Michelle Obama

What if you could bring together girls from all over the world to chat about their hopes and dreams, and what they're doing to make them a reality? And what if girls from a hundred other countries could listen in? And what if they would be joined by the First Lady of the United States? If you think it sounds too good to be true, think again.

At Glamour, October 11 is one of our favorite days of the whole year: International Day of the Girl. To celebrate, we're honored to announce that our nonprofit arm, The Girl Project, is teaming up with the White House's Let Girls Learn initiative to host a massive digital conversation about education inequality, presented by Maybelline New York.

Michelle Obama and Glamour's editor-in-chief Cindi Leive will be in discussion at the Newseum in Washington, D.C., where they'll be joined by actress Yara Shahidi. Girls from all over the world will also join in, via Skype, to talk about the unique challenges girls in their countries face when trying to get an education.

Watch the discussion and submit questions in real-time via Facebook Live by visiting Glamour's Facebook page on October 11, starting at 11:15 am EST. We're also hosting 100 watch parties in 100 countries, so you'll be joining a conversation that's being viewed by thousands of people globally. To sign up to host your own watch party, click here.

The Girl Project is Glamour's philanthropic initiative, which seeks to provide at-risk girls with the tools they need to stay in school, from tuition scholarships and after-school programs, to teacher training and school supplies.

Glamour has joined forces with The Caterpillar Foundation to kick off #WhenGirlsGraduate—a month of action dedicated to supporting girls' education through The Girl Project. Stay tuned after the livestream to find out how you can help.

We'll see you there.
