This Is the Important Reason Women Know to Order the Angel Shot... Just in Case

After a movement in London encouraged women to "Ask for Angela" if they ever needed help at a bar, similar code words have since circulated elsewhere in order to make safety and consent a priority.

The latest version of the trend has reportedly come from the signs hanging in the ladies' room of the Iberian Rooster restaurant in St. Petersburg, Fla.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, the sign reads: "Is your Tinder or Plenty of Fish date not who they said they were on their profile?... Do you feel unsafe, or even just a tad bit weird? Then order an angel shot."

Inspired by the movement in England, the owner of the Florida restaurant, Russell Andrade wants to ensure that his "roosteraunt" remains "a safe place where people can go on a romantic date," and if a guest feels unsafe the code alerts the staff so they can help out accordingly.

"If they order it with ice, the bartender will call an Uber or a Taxi. Order it with lime and the restaurant staff will call the police."
