Get to Know Jen Welter: 6 Fast Facts You Should Know

Jen Welter made history on Monday when she was named the first female coach in NFL history.

We've gotten to know Welter as a coach, but do you know about Welter's life prior to coaching?

Here are six fast facts you should know about the new training camp-preseason intern coach for the Arizona Cardinals:

1. She is originally from Vero Beach, Fla.

2. Her original sport of choice was tennis.

3. When her tennis coach told her she was too short to play professional tennis, she decided to play soccer and was a  two-time captain  for her high school soccer team.

4. She was valedictorian of her graduating class in high school, and hoped to receive a full scholarship to play soccer at Stanford but never received one.

5. She has a bachelor's degree in business from Boston College.

6. She has a master's degree in sports psychology from Capella University in Minnesota.
