Kweilin Ellingrud Discusses the Power of Parity; Gives Business Case for Gender Equality

After three days of mapping out ways to #BEBOLD at The 2017 MAKERS Conference, attendees split up into different sessions to continue the momentum and get to work.

In one of the breakout sessions called "Power of Parity: Business Case For Gender Equality," Kweilin Ellingrud, a Partner at McKinsey, showed how women's equality in the workplace can drive $12T in global growth and $2T in growth in the U.S. alone. Yet the numbers remain staggering. Women make up only 18 percent of the C-suite in U.S. Fortune 500 companies, and are disproportionately in staff roles vs. line roles.

This session discussed the societal factors that contribute to these numbers, along with what companies and individuals (and you) can do to accelerate progress.
