Billboard to Honor Lady Gaga as Its "Woman of the Year"

And Billboard's Woman of the Year goes to... Lasy Gaga!

On Tuesday, Billboard announced that Gaga will be honored at its Women in Music event on December 11, in New York City.

Last year, Gaga joined forces with iconic musician Tony Bennett for their collaborative jazz album, "Cheek to Cheek." The album won a Grammy Award and according to the Nielsen SoundScan, it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 131,000 copies sold in its first week. Her next album is planned to release in 2016.

Aside from music, Gaga has also pursued acting. She will star in FX's "American Horror Story: Hotel" which premieres October 7.

The Women in Music event honors the 50 most powerful female executives in the music industry from this year. The event will also be televised for the first time in the event's decade-long history.
