Lupita Nyong'o May Take Lead Role in Marvel's "Black Panther"

Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o is likely to take on a lead role in Marvel's first black superhero film, "Black Panther."

The movie is scheduled for release on February 2, 2018.

American film director Ryan Coogler who won accolades for his first feature film "Fruitvale Station" and more recently "Creed" will be directing the Marvel film.

Critics say Nyong’o is arguably one of the most recognizable African-American actresses working today. She previously won an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role as Patsey, a brutalized slave, in "12 Years A Slave."

Nyong'o is as inspiring on screen as she is off screen.
