Check Out the Newest Marvel Superhero: A Super Genius Young Girl

Marvel is breathing life back into an older series from 1978, "Devil Dinosaur" by Jack Kirby, with its new "Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur."

The short-lived series "Devil Dinosaur" was about a red Tyrannosaurus Rex and his caveman-like friend, Moon-Boy.

In the new version, the series will feature the adventures of a young super genius named Lunella Lafayette and her 30-foot T-Rex friend that will take place in modern day New York City, reported Entertainment Weekly. The creative force behind "Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur" are writers Amy Reeder and Brandon Montclare, artist Natacha Bustos, and editors Mark Paniccia and Emily Shaw.

"It’s great to be a part of the creation of something which can mean something special to so many people," Bustos told Entertainment Weekly. "I myself have come up against this dilemma (I'm half Afro-Brazilian and half Chilean besides being Spanish) of finding few or no cultural references, especially in Spain, a country where there is isn't any community comparable to the African American community in the states. You end up ironing out your differences and you need to work hard on this aspect to be able to continue maturing as a person."

"Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur" is slated to be released this fall.
