This New "Wonder Woman" Trailer Explains Her Incredible Backstory
We've been following the June 2 release of "Wonder Woman" pretty closely ever since the first trailer dropped last July. After all, Gal Gadot playing this incredibly cool, queer, badass superhero again — in a film devoted to her own character — is almost more than our feminist selves can stand. And now we have another glimpse at the film this weekend, thanks to a new trailer that depicts Diana Prince's journey to become the superhero we know we'll love.
The clips show child-Diana training to be a warrior on what seem, her mom introducing her to some weapons before telling her that she's not fierce enough to wield the greatest sword (the look in child-Diana's eyes says otherwise). Nevertheless, she's promptly set to training "harder than any other Amazon before her," and we see some intense physical exertion that hints at her superhero powers. Fairly exhausting so far, and that's before the plane crash that brings a pilot her way. From there, the trailer gets even more crazy: we're talking weapons of mass destruction, Nazis, lots of explosions, and a trip to England. (Hint: She wasn't there to snap pics of Big Ben).
All of this is getting us pretty fired up for the movie itself. Have a look at the trailer for yourself:
