Noor Tagouri: The First Muslim Woman to Appear in Playboy

Oct 3, 2016

Muslim-American journalist Noor Tagouri, 22, made history and headlines when it was announced that she would appear in Playboy wearing a hijab.

Numerous social media commentators used sexist annotations to describe the journalist, while others have criticized the famously racy magazine for using the spread to "exploit" Muslim women.

She'll appear alongside a diverse group of fully clothed millennials as part of the magazine's "Renegade" series, which highlights people who have risked it all to do what they love.

Earlier this year, Playboy enacted several changes to their magazine including doing away with featuring fully nude photos.

Tagouri is said to appear in October's issue of Playboy wearing black jeans, Converse sneakers, a leather jacket, and of course, her hijab.
