Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, and Cheryl Strayed Are Re-uniting
It's been nearly a year since "Wild" earned two Oscar nominations and critical raves, but the adaptation of Cheryl Strayed's best-selling memoir is living on in some unexpected ways. Strayed and Wild stars Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern are now set to re-unite, this time adapting Strayed's series of "Dear Sugar" advice columns as a show for HBO.
The columns were collected into a book, also a best-seller, called "Tiny Beautiful Things," and the series based on that book will, according to Deadline, follow a Portland, Ore., family who "live by the mantra that the truth will never kill you." That's ... pretty vague, but also has us expecting some kind of combination of Strayed's generous, soul-searching prose, "Gilmore Girls," and "Parenthood" maybe? The last time these three worked together, Dern and Witherspoon both got Oscar nominations; given the extra space of an HBO series, who knows where they could take it? We’ll keep a close eye out in the meantime for adorable Instagrams like the one below and anxiously await the results.
