MAKERS UK Breakthrough: Ruth Mortimer

MAKERS UK is proud to launch #MAKERSBreakthrough, an initiative to keep gender diversity at the top of the agenda and ignite change in advertising by showcasing stories of women in the industry that have broken through the glass ceiling. Committed to their dedication on the subject, MAKERS collaborated with Women in Advertising and Communications London (WACL) at their annual Gather conference to speak to some well known leaders. Together, MAKERS interviewed 10 WACL members who revealed their personal experiences, including their biggest challenges and any motivational advice they can offer to young aspirational women who are striving for success.

Get to Know Ruth Mortimer, Content Director, Centaur Marketing

Ruth Mortimer is content director for Centaur Marketing, which comprises Marketing Week, Econsultancy, Festival of Marketing, Creative Review, Design Week, Celebrity Intelligence, Fashion/Beauty Monitor, Year Ahead and Foresight News. 

She also runs the Festival of Marketing as the festival director.

Her role involves ensuring that the brands - which range from weekly print magazines to digital training providers, from data intelligence products to large-scale events, have a joined-up content strategy that helps provide their audiences in the marketing, media, creative and PR communities with products that fit their needs.

The Festival of Marketing has more than 3000 attendees (nearly 70% from brands consuming content across 12 stages). With more than 250 speakers over two days, the Masters of Marketing awards evening, parties, dinners, workshops and VIP experiences, it is the global event for brand marketers.

Centaur Marketing brands have more than three million contacts with their audience each month across their products, which have won a number of awards in the last year for digital and events innovation.
